But downloading my previous settings & core values from HWBOT, when i hit 955, i'm not hitting anywhere near the earlier benchmark - more like 845-860. I didn't run a benchmark in the ETU utility for the past two years until today - and the best i can hit is 885, and that after tweaking the clock frequency up a bit (4.050). Using the 'compare your score' which uploads your settings and score to HWBOT's web, it would report my cpu was showing 'excellent' scores.Īnd also for the record, i've easily run my system 300-500 hours per year rendering videos. I did notice that i got the best scores were always the first benchmark test i'd run for the day - each successive one would drop a few points. Initial benchmarks using Intel's ETU ran in the mid 900s, ie 950-960 with the occasional 97X score.
It's been 2 years since i installed an i7-4790 cpu in my PC. For the record, my noctua cooler has always kept the cpu, max at 63 to 64C when rendering videos using Handbrake - Handbrake seems to be a core hog as it uses all 4 cores and on the RealTempGT utilization utility, generally shows the load on the cpu running at 98-100%.
